ANIIMO Evolution Guide

Direct answer

Open Aniimo Management, select an ANIIMO and choose the Evolution entry. Check that target's panel rather than relying on a universal recipe: the verified Wisptis Forest Form example combines level 29, same-form combat, location and material criteria, while other ANIIMO may differ.

Key information
  • Official-derived evolution relationships currently connect 81 ANIIMO, and entity pages show documented family links.
  • Lumin, Gamma and Nova are stage labels only where the official evolution tree identifies them.
  • A form and an evolution are different: forms stay within one entity, while evolution links canonical ANIIMO identities.

How Evolution Works in ANIIMO

Evolution connects one canonical ANIIMO identity to another documented member of its family. The current official-derived dataset records predecessor and successor relationships, and the evolutions index links those relationships to the relevant Aniidex profiles.

Those relationships answer “what can this ANIIMO evolve from or into?” They do not, by themselves, prove the gameplay requirement. A level, battle target, location, time, weather, Personality, Potential, item or progression gate should only be stated when the actual evolution panel or another first-party source confirms it.

Where Do I Evolve an ANIIMO?

Open Aniimo Management, select the ANIIMO you want to inspect, then use the Evolution entry shown beside the Level Up and Training actions. The supplied screen highlights that entry on the selected ANIIMO’s management page.

Select an ANIIMO in Management, then open the highlighted Evolution entry to inspect its targets and criteria.

The Evolution screen presents a target and its criteria. Check the exact target form as well as the target ANIIMO because form-specific wording may matter to a requirement.

Lumin, Gamma and Nova Stages

ANIIMO Central uses Lumin, Gamma and Nova only when the official evolution tree identifies a stage. They are useful progression labels, not permission to force every family into a three-step line.

Some records have missing stage labels, unusual IDs, branching successors or special structures. An unknown stage stays unknown. A Nova label on the verified Wisptis target describes that target screen; it does not prove that every evolution family ends at the same requirement pattern or that every entity passes through all three labels.

Evolution Families

An evolution family is the connected set of canonical ANIIMO relationships. Each entity record can contain previous, next and family slugs, and the repository validates reciprocity and membership rather than relying on similar names or appearance.

The current dataset has 81 entities with at least one previous or next evolution relationship. Families may be linear or branch. For example, Flameruff has documented successors Scorchhowl and Inferlupa, Chirpi branches toward Tromber, Cornet and Tubster, and Wisptis branches toward Fulmintis and Ignitis.

These links establish family structure only. They do not establish which branch is stronger, whether one is missable, or the precise criteria for choosing it.

Evolution Requirements Can Combine Multiple Conditions

The supplied Wisptis screen is a verified example for a Forest Form, Nova Stage target. Its visible Evolution Criteria combine:

  • Aniimo level 29;
  • defeat 3 Wisptis of the same Form as yourself in succession;
  • be in Mistwoods or Blitzwood; and
  • pay a visible material cost.

This Wisptis target combines several criteria. The unidentified material icon is deliberately not named.

This example proves that one evolution can combine level, combat, form, location and material checks. It does not mean every ANIIMO needs all of them. Other targets can use different requirements, so inspect the specific panel or a documented Aniidex record.

Why Evolution Requirements Differ

Evolution criteria can be target-specific and branch-specific. Even within one family, a different successor may ask for a different form, place or action. The current structured relationship data does not encode a universal requirement table, so this guide does not manufacture one from family links.

The safest reading order is: confirm the target identity, note the target form and stage, then read every criterion separately. A checked condition is satisfied; an unchecked condition still blocks the action. The disabled Evolve button in the example reflects that incomplete set, not a general unlock level.

Types of Evolution Conditions

The verified Wisptis example supports four practical condition types: level, combat involving the same form, location, and material cost. It also demonstrates why the form label is not cosmetic: “same Form as yourself” makes the currently used form part of the combat requirement.

Other possible condition categories should not be promoted into facts without evidence for a particular target. Personality and Potential are real systems covered by the Personality guide and Potential & Capability Awakening guide, but this batch does not prove that either is a universal evolution gate. The same caution applies to weather, time, quests and account progression.

Evolution Materials

The Wisptis panel visibly includes one material icon and a required quantity. The item is not named in the supplied screen, and the repository does not resolve that icon confidently, so the guide leaves it unidentified.

Never identify an evolution material from color or silhouette alone. Also avoid converting one visible cost into a family-wide table. If the client exposes an item detail panel, use its exact name and category; until then, “a visible material cost” is the complete supported claim.

Branching Evolutions

Branching families give one predecessor more than one documented successor. The current data contains several examples, including Flameruff, Chirpi, Pranky, Nimbi, Hummin, Budclaw, Budsquire, Pomegg, Wisptis and others.

Branching does not by itself explain how to select a result. Use each target panel to compare criteria. A regional or same-form requirement can make the desired branch more specific, but relationship data alone cannot prove an item, level, weather, Personality or Potential trigger.

How to Check an ANIIMO’s Evolution Path

Start on the ANIIMO’s canonical profile. Its Evolution section shows resolved previous and next identities and lets you move through the family without confusing nested forms for separate species. The standalone evolutions index is the broader relationship browser.

Then inspect the live Evolution panel for the selected ANIIMO. Confirm the target name, form and stage, and record each unchecked condition. If the requirement involves weather or time, use the Weather & Time guide for the verified controls—but do not assume that every location or form requirement implies weather.

Why an ANIIMO May Not Be Ready to Evolve

One missing criterion is enough to keep Evolve unavailable. Recheck level, the precise battle wording, whether the defeated ANIIMO matched the required form, the active location and the material count. “In succession” should be read literally in the Wisptis example; the screenshot does not explain what actions reset that sequence, so no reset rule is invented.

Also verify that you selected the intended branch. Meeting one target’s criteria does not prove another branch is ready. If the Aniidex relationship exists but the expected target is absent from the client, treat that as a verification issue rather than guessing an undocumented unlock.

Evolution vs Forms, Potential and Resonance

Evolution connects identities. Forms are variants nested within one identity. Potential develops six attributes and Capability Awakening, while Resonance and Star Up is a separate Training path with its own level gates and materials.

These systems may all affect how developed an ANIIMO feels, but their menus and evidence are distinct. Do not call a form change an evolution, treat Capability Awakening as an evolution stage, or reuse Star Up material costs as evolution costs.

Common Evolution Mistakes

  • Assuming every family follows a mandatory Lumin → Gamma → Nova pattern.
  • Reading a family relationship as proof of a level, item or location requirement.
  • Generalizing the Wisptis combination to every ANIIMO.
  • Ignoring the exact form named by a same-form battle criterion.
  • Guessing the material name from its icon.
  • Treating nested forms as separate evolution identities.
  • Assuming every branch shares one set of conditions.

ANIIMO Evolution FAQ

Where is the Evolution menu?

Select an ANIIMO in Aniimo Management and use the Evolution entry beside Level Up and Training.

What level does an ANIIMO evolve?

There is no universal level established by this evidence. The worked Wisptis target requires level 29; other targets may differ.

Do all evolutions need battles and a location?

No. Those criteria are verified for the shown Wisptis target only.

Can one ANIIMO have multiple evolutions?

Yes. The official-derived relationship data contains branching predecessors with multiple successors.

Are forms evolutions?

No. Forms stay under one canonical identity; evolution relationships connect separate identities.

Does the Aniidex contain every gameplay requirement?

It reliably documents current family relationships. Always use the live target panel for criteria that are not separately structured and verified.

Tips & warnings

  • The Wisptis criteria are one worked example, not a universal evolution formula.
  • Do not identify a material from its icon or assume all branches share the same level, battle, location or cost requirements.
